That's right, I've decided to resurrect my blog from the nothingness that it has been for months now. Why? I have absolutely no clue whatsoever. But I am.
So... what to say? Well, I've been busy, although my own procrastination (check that, lack of an attention span) has made it so it's taking me longer (day-wise) to get work done. I will spend an hour or 2 on something, and then just totally get distracted with a TV show, something I remembered I wanted to look at on TV, or resurrecting my website's blog. For instance, right now I have something I need to finish, and instead I'm writing this. Sure, I'll finish what I need to, but it will just mean I'll go to bed much later than originally planned.
Speaking of which, I now do have the ability to go to bed at a "normal" hour (meaning before 1am if I really need to!) except for days when I delay work and then must stay up to finish stuff. But I love it when I do get to bed early (by my past several years' standards) and can actually wake up when it's actually AM. It's nice to experience much more of "daytime".

So what is new in the life of Paul? Jeremy comes in on Friday (Jeremy being my best friend, who moved to Ottawa just over a year ago) and he'll be here for nearly 3 weeks. It should be loads of fun, and the 18 days or so he's here will be filled with trips to Brad's aunt and uncle's cabin, golfing along with my dad, the Alice Cooper concert on August 22nd, and perhaps a weekend trip to Hecla Island with the same crew that went on that much-enjoyed trip to Minneapolis in 2001 (myself, Jeremy, Mike, Dustin, and Jason). Plus I'm certain other fun shall be had.
Tonight I watched the season finale of Joe Schmoe 2. It was as hilarious as the rest of the season has been ? which is very, very funny! It was interesting to see the reactions of the 2 "Schmoes" this time around, because the fake reality show they were in was a dating show ala The Bachelor (the first Joe Schmoe was just based around a Big Brother-type spoof). So more than just friendships were being built up (falsely) in this one; rather, real romantic feelings were being toyed with.
I just realized that people may not have a clue what the premise for Joe Schmoe is. Basically, it's a faux-reality TV show, where a fake reality show is created and everybody is an actor except for the titled Joe Schmoe (or in the case of the second one, Joe and Jane Schmoe) who actually believes they're on a reality TV show. The characters they are surrounded with, the games they have to play, and the situations that arise are absolutely outrageous, and the point is to push the limits as much as they can while still being able to continue convincing the Schmoes that they are on a real show. It's delightfully entertaining, because you get the faux-reality, but also the reality of putting on this ruse and making it stick.
For those who do not read my LiveJournal (the link is to the left), I recently saw the movie Garden State and it was definitely the finest movie I've seen this year, and certainly ranks up there with one of the best films I've ever experienced. I am constantly thinking about the movie and how absolutely phenomenal it is. It is a comedy (and a very funny one at that) but also has a lot of substance to go along with it. While Napoleon Dynamite (which I saw a few weeks ago and is also one of my favourite movies this year) is absolutely hilarious, making me practically fall out of my seat with laughter, it is meant almost entirely as just a comedy. Garden State has so much more. The characters are so real, the situations and actions seem so everyday, and even the comedy seems like the comedy and humour one would experience just... existing. The film was written and directed by, and also stars, Zach Braff (of TV's Scrubs). It's so amazing that a person making their directorial debut could have also written and starred in the movie, and done it so well. He is quite literally a genius. The movie also stars Natalie Portman (who I absolutely adore, as should every man with any kind of brain whatsoever) and Peter Sarsgaard. Anyway, go see this movie! And while you're at it, see Napoleon Dynamite too, because it's rip-roaringly funny. Heck, see The Bourne Supremacy and I, Robot too, if you're more in the mood for action fare. But see Garden State first.
And if you have some time and are absolutely bored out of your skull with nothing to do, head on over to Zach Braff's blog, which is on the Garden State website. It is a good read, plus I think it's really rather nice that he keeps in touch with his fans and those devoted to his film. How very un-Hollywood of him. :)
Well, I really must get back to my work, so I'm going to do that now. But take care all, and I will indeed post on here more. Perhaps I may even post on here *instead* of my LiveJournal. Then again, I almost never make my own posts on LiveJournal and talk about myself, more often just replying to other people's posts and such. IRREGARDLESS, I will post here more.
Oh yeah, one last thing: why has nobody purchased my CD? Just because it sucks doesn't mean you shouldn't purchase it. Geez! You all should know this by now!
