A Walk Through Lisbon

We walk through the dusty streets
Passing houses and churches and playful children
We happen upon a little shop
It sells art from the region
We browse through the brilliant works
Of countless artists, past and present
You hold my hand
As we breathe in the history
Of this art and this shop;
This city and this country;
Of us
We buy a small token of our visit
To this little corner of the world
The old man working tells you how beautiful you are
I guarantee — in all his years —
He's never said something so true

Blogging From Bed

That's right... I'm posting this from my cell phone whilst lying in bed. Unfortunately, I'm too sick to my stomach to fall back asleep (only got 3 hours in) but I'm still too exhausted to actually get out of bed. Oh well, I'm gonna try and get a couple more hours of sleep and then I have some errands to run. If only I could've posted this to Live Journal... people actually read THAT!

Paris in April

Paris in April
I see us there, at a café, drinking wine
I've taken it up again
But only a glass at a time
The sun is shining, you're squinting but smiling
We talk of the art we saw yesterday
And how it inspires us both
I show you the photos I took this morning —
I took a walk around the city
While you slept so soundly and beautifully
You playfully hit me for not waking you
But of course, I'll take you to the spots anyway
They were nice, but will be better with you there
You whisper into my ear
I agree

Fancy Seeing You Here Again

It's been a loooooooooooooong time since I've updated this page. I suppose between posts on LiveJournal, Flyboy's Hangar, and The Brethren (now Winterpeg & Beyond) I feel that I've talked about myself plenty (probably more than I should). I do, however, feel the need to put some sort of "current" content on here, so I will now discuss the various things going on with myself which may pertain to this page.

First, music. I recorded two new tracks recently: one, an original ("Untitled"), and the other, a Sarah Slean cover ("I Want to Be Brave"). I was feeling stuffy when I recorded them, and you can definitely tell, so that's why they haven't been posted in the music section yet. I may change my mind, though (or re-record the vocals) so check back there soon. I'm also working on finally finishing 2 other songs that have been "partial" songs for quite some time. And I've decided "Come to Me" needs a third verse. So I would imagine there will be a lot of additions to the music section soon.

As for the photo gallery page, I've taken a ridiculously long time getting all the photo galleries of all my friends back on the site. It's a mix of not really knowing how I want to have it all laid out/set up and just having more important web-related projects to work on (such as my many clients or CanadaMovies.net stuff). They will be updated sometime this summer though (hopefully), and will include not only photos of all my friends, but expanded sections for my own various photography and photos from trips I've gone on (including Florida 2000, Minneapolis 2000, Minneapolis 2001, Las Vegas/Los Angeles 2003, Las Vegas/Los Angeles 2005, and Alberta 2005).

I suppose to finish this off, I will just point out how unbelievably excited I am for the upcoming Gigantour concert in Milwaukee that I'll be attending. I'm not necessarily looking forward to the 15-hour drives both ways, but I am psyched for seeing Dream Theater (my favourite band), Megadeth (one of my favourite metal bands), and Symphony X (an absolutely kick-ass prog-metal band) all in one show (and I'm sure I'll enjoy Fear Factory, Nevermore, and Dillenger Escape Plan as well).

That is all. Have a nice day. :)
